Thus far these webpages have described various ways to treat the vapor emissions from a SVE treatment process.  But is SVE the only choice?

 

Alternatives to SVE exist from simple “capping” of the site to “steam injection” to drive the contaminants from the soil more rapidly.  Can they be universally applied?  Will any provide a practical and economic solution for the site that you are interested in?  Several alternatives have been under recent investigation and have not been applied to full-scale remediation sites, do they hold promise?
